End of 1999 the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FERMI) (USA) and the German Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (DESY) agreed on a joined project to improve, simplify and unify the access to tertiary storage. After a feasibility study, resulting in an initial design plan, the project is now under development at both sites. At DESY, to get support from the experimental groups, a Project Assignment Plan has been presented to the Computing Review Board describing the requirements and defining the Deliverables.
